Vampires have no reflection, so for Halloween 2016 we let the Hyundai i20 Active’s parking sensors find one.
Hyundai Auto Romania’s Halloween brief for 2016 looked routine: stand out from the competition at Halloween and put a real feature of the car into the story. We went to vampire lore. A vampire has no reflection, so no mirror can show you one. The i20 Active’s rear parking sensors can. Hyundai approved it almost on the spot. The line: “See the Unseen.”
The film is 57 seconds of two friends in costume make-up, one Día de Muertos, one pop art, driving to a Halloween party.

They pull into a space on a dark street. The mirrors show an empty street. The sensors beep anyway.

They park safely, and the vampire is gone.
We wrote the script and art-directed the shoot. Besides the film there was a photo session and a set of key visuals. Shoot, photos and post-production took 4 days. The film ran on Hyundai Auto Romania’s Facebook page in the run-up to Halloween and on the night itself.
